Harp Lessons and Piano Lessons
I am a seasoned music educator, having taught students professionally since 1994. I welcome beginner to advanced students, young children to adults. Interested parents and students are encouraged to set up an interview.
Harp Students
I am the only teacher in the region who teaches the Grandjany/Renie method exclusively. As part of my curriculum, students will utilize technique exercises and a wide range of literature coupled with a sight reading and theory program to ensure their musical growth. Students have the opportunity to participate in harp ensemble, master classes, and numerous performance opportunities. Advance students are exposed to chamber music with other instruments and concertos. Don't have a harp? Don't worry! I am happy to assist you in your harp rental or purchase.
Piano Students
I do not use one piano method exclusively. I choose the best method that will serve the needs of the student. A teen who is a beginning student does not want to use a book for "babies" and an adult who wants to learn to play for their own enjoyment needs a method with music they recognize. Like my harp students, all students will have firm foundation in theory and technique so they can play the music they love long after lessons have ended.
All Students
Although I stress standard literature, I do include other music including religious music, Broadway, popular, and Celtic repertoire. I do encourage my students to participate in adjudications, competitions, and performance opportunities, based on their musical goals.
Lessons take place in my home studio, located near Downtown Macon. Lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes long. Family discounts are available.
